BACKGROUND
The Office of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu is a government body which was established by the State Government of Terengganu responsible in the management of the requirements for the Sultanate of Terengganu State.
Formerly, this office was known as Pejabat Setiausaha Sulit kepada Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Terengganu. Its purposes are to maintance the surveillance and accomplish the requirements of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu as the highest leader in the State of Terengganu.
This Office is responsible to manage the Sultanate of Terengganu Institution and to ascertain the consented decrees of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu in the administrative affairs of the State being executed by the Government of Terengganu.
THE FUNCTIONS
The primary role of this Office is to deliver services specifically to the Royal Sultanate Institution of Terengganu in all matters related to the Palace including administration & finance management, security aspects, supervision & maintenance of the Palace, as well as transportation.
It serves as an intermediary between the State Government and external institutions with the Palace. This is to ensure all official and unofficial matters involving His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu & Her Royal Highness the Sultanah of Terengganu as well as Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Di-Pertuan Muda (the Crown Prince) Terengganu being channelled through this Office.

THE ROLES OF UNIT
ADMINISTRATION & FINANCE UNIT

To manage administrative matters of the Office.

To manage and control the expenditures.

To plan and manage human resources.

To hold the Annual Budget.

To manage the transportation.

To manage the premise and compound of the Palace.
CUSTOM UNIT

To manage the Honorary Titles Conferment investiture and other official ceremonies of the State.

To coordinate the customary functions of Birthday Anniversary of DYMM Sultan.

To manage and coordinate the Investiture Customary of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu and Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Di-Pertuan Muda (the Crown Prince) Terengganu.

To manage and coordinare the customaries of:

Hair Cutting

Royal’s Death Rituals

To manage and save-guard the ceremonial instruments and regalia of the State.

To coordinate the activities of nobat and biduanda.

To deliver advisory services in matters related to protocol and customs of the Palace.
ISLAMIC AFFAIRS UNIT
-
To coordinate religious functions in and outside the Palace that involved DYMM Sultan and DYMM Sultanah Terengganu.

To recite prays in all unofficial functions in the Palace and during unofficial departures of DYMM Sultan and DYMM Sultanah Terengganu.

To solemnly inform DYMM Sultan and DYMM Sultanah Terengganu the following matters:

The meeting of MAIDAM;

Letters related to the appointment/termination of imams, Friday’s preachings and other letters on religious matters;

Religious issues hoisted in local newspapers/magazines as well as mess-media.

To deploy the Friday Prayers’ timetable of DYMM Sultan and DYMM Sultanah Terengganu with the collaboration of Religious Affairs Department of Terengganu.

To coordinate the activities of Palace’s surau (prayering hall).

To deliver advisory (counseling) services and guidance to the staffs related to religious matters.
ROYAL MANAGEMENT UNIT

To manage official letters and documents of the government and other agencies which needed to be solemnly presented to His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu.

To coordinate all customary events organized by the Palace and external parties which involved the present of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu and Her Royal Highness the Sultanah of Terengganu.

To coordinate and determine all itinerants of His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu and delegation in the country and abroad, including air ticket booking, accommodation and transportation.

To manage and organize all matters of having audience with His Royal Highness the Sultan of Terengganu and Her Royal Highness the Sultanah of Terengganu.
PALACE MANAGEMENT UNIT

To manage all requirements of befitting place and instruments for customary functions and events in the Palace.

To coordinate the tasks and to organize the requirment of personnels for banquet at customary functions and Palace functions.

Managing and monitoring the expenditure of the Palace’s kitchen.

Keeping the management of the store maintenance, including the inventory of kitchen essentials, consistently up to date and well organized.
DYTM YDP MUDA (THE CROWN PRINCE) UNIT

To manage the functions that involved the present of Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Di-Pertuan Muda (the Crown Prince) Terengganu.

To coordinate the official and unofficial itinerants of Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Di-Pertuan Muda (the Crown Prince) Terengganu and delegation.

To determine the escorts of Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Di-Pertuan Muda (the Crown Prince) Terengganu to official customary rites and functions.

To manage appointment of general public individually and in groups for audiences.

To solemnly present (mengangkat sembah) the official letters of the government to Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Di-Pertuan Muda (the Crown Prince) Terengganu.
MAINTENANCE & OPERATION UNIT

To deliver technical services and consultations to the Office in maintaining the asset professionally and at the cost effective.

To ensure all assets of the Office perfectly functioning, safe and comfortable to attainment the objectives of the Office delivery service.

To retain the functionality of building assets to fulfill facility features and technical designed as well as economically to be utilized.

To ensure the services of building facility management and related to them are always effective and efficient in meeting the requirements of the Office.
